About The Position

BNY’s Wealth Services Platform, a business unit within BNY, provides white-labeled financial business solutions for wealth managers and registered investment advisors, including custody, advisory, portfolio management, trading, and banking services. The Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer will provide technical leadership across Wealth Services Clearing, Trade Management, and Custody services, with responsibility for multiple mission-critical distributed applications. The role combines hands-on engineering with architecture, platform ownership, team guidance, and delivery leadership.

The engineer will lead the design, development, support, and modernization of scalable enterprise applications, helping preserve platform stability, operational resilience, and continuity of delivery. The role advances agile engineering practices and AI-enabled development, supports security, compliance, performance, and reliability standards, and mentors junior developers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing. The position is based in the NJ/NY area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of experience in software development.
• Significant software engineering experience, including full-stack development in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical architecture experience, including distributed applications, system integration, scalability, and resilience patterns.
• Strong Java skills and demonstrated ability to lead the design, development, and support of enterprise applications.
• Experience working in agile development environments and leading teams through iterative delivery models.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development practices and modern engineering tools to improve delivery outcomes.
• AI agentic process engineering and skills.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience, with strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks such as Angular and back-end technologies such as Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and modern software development lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across Clearing, Trade Management, and Custody services in Wealth Services, with responsibility for multiple mission-critical distributed applications.
• Drive full-stack software engineering excellence through technical architecture, hands-on leadership, and the design, development, and support of scalable distributed systems.
• Maintain ownership and oversight of key application platforms to preserve system stability, operational resilience, and continuity of delivery.
• Support the long-term sustainability of critical platforms through engineering best practices, documentation, and team collaboration.
• Advance agile development practices for iterative, high-quality delivery aligned with business priorities and platform goals.
• Promote AI-enabled development capabilities to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery effectiveness.
• Apply Java engineering expertise and cloud technology knowledge to support platform modernization, integration, and application support.
• Mentor and guide junior developers through day-to-day technical leadership, pairing, code review, and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure applications meet security, compliance, performance, and reliability standards.
• Help manage project timelines and deliverables with stakeholders while remaining involved in execution.
• Balance leadership responsibilities with direct technical contribution and help move work forward.
