Senior Vice President, Development
About The Position
Family Resource Network (FRN) seeks a strategic, mission-driven Senior Vice President, Development to lead fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropic growth across New Jersey. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Leadership Team, this leader will partner with senior leadership and the Board to strengthen donor relationships, expand revenue, and advance FRN’s mission. FRN is a statewide nonprofit serving individuals and families affected by autism, epilepsy, intellectual and developmental disabilities, chronic conditions, and caregiving challenges. With more than 54 years of service and programs reaching all 21 New Jersey counties, FRN provides support coordination, respite, employment and transition services, advocacy, public health initiatives, training, and community-based supports. The SVP, Development is FRN’s chief fundraising executive, responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive development strategy that supports current programs and future growth. This role oversees major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations, sponsorships, signature events, donor relations, database management, and development operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive nonprofit development, fundraising, advancement, or philanthropic leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success securing major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation funding, sponsorships, and individual donor support.
- Experience leading fundraising campaigns, donor events, development operations, and donor database systems such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
- Senior leadership or executive-level experience required, with the ability to contribute to organization-wide planning and decision-making.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
- Strategic thinker with business acumen, analytical ability, and comfort using data to improve fundraising performance.
- Ability to inspire donors, partners, volunteers, Board members, and staff around a shared mission.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, integrity, and passion for serving individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions, caregivers, and families.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree preferred.
- CFRE credential preferred.
- Experience in disability services, healthcare, human services, education, family support, or related nonprofit sectors.
- Knowledge of New Jersey philanthropic, corporate, and nonprofit landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual, multi-year, and long-term fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Build and manage a strong donor pipeline, including major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and community partnerships.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity donors, foundations, corporate leaders, board members, and community stakeholders.
- Lead fundraising events, sponsorship initiatives, campaigns, and donor recognition programs.
- Oversee donor database management, gift tracking, analytics, reporting, stewardship, compliance, and Raiser’s Edge administration.
- Partner with the CEO, Board, and Executive Leadership Team on strategy, growth initiatives, funding opportunities, and community representation.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for FRN’s mission, helping translate the organization’s impact into compelling philanthropic opportunities.
- Bring a collaborative executive presence, strong judgment, and the ability to build confidence with donors, staff, volunteers, community partners, and Board members.
- Set direction, strengthen systems, open doors, cultivate relationships, and personally advance high-value fundraising opportunities.
