About The Position

This role will be working from our New York, NY office. Aon is in the business of better decisions. The Financial Services Group (FSG) is Aon’s dedicated financial lines insurance specialty practice with deep experience in management liability (D&O) and professional liability (E&O) and related insurance products. Aon’s Private Equity and Transaction Solutions practice (APETS) is a division of FSG that works closely with clients in the private equity and alternative asset management space. The APETS team comprises insurance professionals dedicated to the specialized service needs of this unique and high growth clientele.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of commercial insurance, risk management, financial product brokerage/advisory, and/or legal experience
  • Acquire and/or maintain appropriate property & casualty insurance producer license(s)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Effective oral presentation and written communication ability
  • Ability to methodically work through a project-plan and meet immovable deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Experience working in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in underwriting, risk control, legal and/or finance-related fields preferred, or comparable financial and/or legal work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, understand and explain the management and professional liability exposures of private equity and alternative asset clients
  • Craft and build management and professional liability risk transfer solutions
  • Compare and explain differences in insurer policy forms
  • Negotiate market-leading insurance policy terms and conditions with underwriters
  • Develop and lead professional relationships with clients and underwriters
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to timely deliver professional work product
  • Stay current and present to clients on insurance market participants, developments, trends and underwriting practices
  • Participate as needed in unscheduled client matters including claim consultation, noticing and resolution; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; and initial public offerings
  • Manage an assigned book of client accounts
  • Participate in exploring new growth initiatives
