About The Position

At BETA Technologies, we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture. We are seeking a Verification Engineer to support the execution and delivery of verification activities for our certifying electric aircraft’s high-voltage electric power systems. This role sits within systems verification and focuses on translating requirements into clear, testable artifacts and producing the evidence required for certification. You’ll work across integration labs, test environments, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-voltage subsystems are properly verified, traceable, and ready for certification submittals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in verification, validation, systems, or test engineering in aerospace or another safety-critical industry
  • Experience developing verification artifacts for complex hardware or integrated systems
  • Strong understanding of requirements-based verification and traceability
  • Experience with requirements and PLM tools such as Polarion, DOORS, Jira, or Windchill
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, HIL, environmental, or ground testing

  • Experience supporting conformity, test witnessing, or certification compliance activities
  • Background in electric propulsion or aircraft power systems

Responsibilities

  • Author, execute, and maintain verification plans, procedures, and reports for high-voltage subsystems
  • Define verification methods (test, analysis, inspection, demonstration), success criteria, configurations, and environmental conditions
  • Perform requirements analysis to ensure testability and maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, verification activities, and results
  • Execute and support testing across integration labs, HIL, environmental qualification, and ground/flight environments
  • Analyze test data using tools such as MATLAB or Python and clearly document results to substantiate compliance
  • Support certification activities by preparing verification evidence, managing anomalies and deviations, and participating in conformity inspections and test witnessing
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve requirement gaps and ensure verification completeness
  • Verify high-voltage systems including batteries, power electronics, distribution systems, and safety/protection mechanisms
