The Senior Vegetation Management Inspector (SVMI) performs vegetation inspections, audits, and contractor-performance monitoring, and may plan, direct, and coordinate tree-clearance crews. The role serves as a liaison among clients, tree crews, customers, public agencies, and company representatives. It is a safety-sensitive position, and the employee must reside within 50 miles of Placerville, California. Duties are contingent on the contractual agreement between ACRT Pacific and its customer; the position may not be permanent and could conclude in response to an RFP or RFQ. The SVMI patrols distribution or transmission circuits, assesses trees that could strike electric facilities, and prescribes pruning or removal work to maintain required clearances and meet regulatory and company standards. The role also involves coordinating field work, resolving obstacles, monitoring schedule and scope, documenting patrols and safety observations, auditing inspection quality, and supporting training, emergency response, outage or incident investigations, and customer claims as requested. The SVMI uses PG&E systems and mapping procedures, including VMDSRs, and may work with public agencies and contractors on escalated matters. The position requires field work in varied and rugged terrain and inclement weather, as well as driving and using forestry and safety equipment. Required training includes OSHA 30-hour construction safety, CTSP or Certified Arborist with TRAQ, 911 Standby, QA/QC, and computer training, with specified completion deadlines. The position is full-time, regular, non-exempt, and bargaining-unit. Base compensation is $52.87 per hour; the posting also states an in-lieu-of-benefits payment of $13.22 per eligible hour and a $50 daily subsistence payment for qualifying workdays. Additional compensation or benefits may vary by eligibility and region.
