About The Position

The Senior Vegetation Management Inspector (SVMI) performs vegetation inspections, audits, and contractor-performance monitoring, and may plan, direct, and coordinate assigned tree-clearance crews. The role serves as a liaison among clients, tree crews, customers, public agencies, and company operations. It is safety-sensitive, based within 50 miles of Placerville, California, and is contingent on the contractual agreement with the customer; it may end in response to an RFP or RFQ and is not necessarily permanent. The SVMI patrols distribution and transmission circuits, assesses trees that could strike electric facilities, and prescribes pruning or removal work to meet clearance, regulatory, and PG&E vegetation-management requirements. The role verifies that line patrols and work are completed and documented according to annual plans, mapping procedures, standards, permits, and applicable laws. It may also include quality audits of inspectors, training and onboarding, work-scope coordination, investigations, emergency response, and support for operational emergency activities. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a Class C driver’s license, and one of several specified experience pathways. Required training includes OSHA 30-hour construction safety, CTSP or Certified Arborist credentials with TRAQ, 911 Standby, QA/QC, and computer training, subject to stated completion deadlines. The position reports to the Operations Manager. Base compensation is $52.87 per hour; the posting also describes an in-lieu-of-benefits payment of $13.22 per eligible hour and a $50 daily subsistence payment for qualifying workdays.
