About The Position

GDIT is seeking a TS/SCI-cleared Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to support an intelligence customer in Springfield, Virginia, or Arnold, Missouri. The engineer will design, configure, and maintain a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment and serve as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting performance issues across the organization. The role includes system design and integration, identity lifecycle management, and process automation and improvement. The engineer will provide Tier 3/4 support to system administrators, advise on desktop optimization and platform interoperability, serve as a liaison among VDI technologies, and provide endpoint support and troubleshooting for VDI-related issues. The position involves working across complex production environments with multiple stakeholders, applying extensive technical expertise, conducting trade studies, and recommending solutions and make-or-buy decisions. The successful candidate will bring a track record of designing and maintaining enterprise-scale VDI, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; the employer can sponsor for a polygraph.
U.S. citizenship.
At least 5 years of related experience, with a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Progressive experience in roles from Administrator to Senior Engineer.
Engineering support experience with legacy and current versions of Citrix products.
Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later.
Experience with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS).
Experience with Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).
Experience with Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX.
Experience with Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
Experience with Citrix App Layering and Liquidware Profile Unity.
Experience with Hyper-V and VMware VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs).
Familiarity with HP AnyConnect and Leostream.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and soft skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or Ansible.
Experience with System Center Virtual Machine Manager or VMware vCenter 6.7.
Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies.
Experience with home directory and profile management.
Experience with support services, desktop software provisioning, and support services.
