About The Position

The Senior Valuations Lead, CLO & CDO is responsible for owning the daily valuation process for a wide range of structured credit products, including CLOs and CDOs, across global markets. This role ensures timely, accurate, and high-quality evaluations used by banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, asset managers, and other financial institutions for portfolio valuation, risk management, research, and client reporting. The successful candidate will be a subject matter authority in CLO and CDO valuation methodologies, market dynamics, and analytical tools. They will play a key role in quality assurance, client engagement, improvement in execution, team development, and strategic product improvements.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in CLO and CDO markets, including: Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and asset-specific analytics, including prepayment and loss modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with valuation and analytics platforms such as:
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently research complex topics and make sound valuation decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to defend valuations to clients, auditors, and partners.
  • Proven track record to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong relationship-building and partner leadership skills.
  • Experience collaborating with business, sales, product, project management, technology, and vendor teams.
  • Established network of broker and dealer contacts within structured credit markets.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in CLO and CDO trading, sales, structuring, modeling, valuation, or related structured finance roles.
  • Bachelors or Masters in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • CFA designation, FINRA licenses, or other relevant fixed income certifications.
  • Experience working within a global and matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and be responsible for the full daily production cycle for global CLO and CDO valuations, including pre-production, quality assurance, production, and delivery.
  • Perform and monitor daily quality assurance reviews to ensure pricing accuracy and minimize valuation corrections.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for CLO and CDO valuation methodologies, workflows, market data, and analytical tools.
  • Respond to client inquiries, price challenges, and valuation-related questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Represent the valuation team during client meetings, due diligence reviews, industry conferences, and internal forums.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency through automation, process enhancements, and workflow optimization.
  • Contribute to the develop and implementation of valuation methodologies, models, and improvements in execution.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior team members on valuation techniques, analytical models, market data, and systems.
  • Lead market data improvement initiatives and help expand product coverage and capabilities.
  • Monitor global CLO and CDO markets, market trends, trading activity, and industry developments.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with dealers, brokers, and market participants to capture market intelligence and improve transparency.
  • Analyze dealer research, rating agency reports, and BWIC activity to support valuation decisions.
