About The Position

TRABUS Technologies has an opportunity for a Senior UX/UI Engineer & Product Owner to support data-intensive, AI/ML-enabled applications for critical U.S. Navy programs. We are seeking an experienced design and product leader who can drive product strategy and execution from end to end — from user research, UX/UI design, and frontend development through product backlog management, Agile sprint execution, stakeholder engagement, and delivery. This senior-level position is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on UX/UI and frontend engineering expertise with the ability to own a product roadmap, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with government stakeholders, and lead cross-functional technical teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional frontend development experience using modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Product Owner, Project Manager, or similar product/technical leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated experience translating user research, customer interviews, usability testing, or stakeholder feedback into product strategy, roadmaps, and design or code changes.
  • Experience managing project schedules, resources, risks, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience working directly with government customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with backlog and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with UX/UI design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Experience consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs and integrating backend data into frontend applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows and version control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical and design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a final DoD-adjudicated Secret security clearance.
  • Employment with TRABUS is contingent upon meeting applicable security clearance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or related certification.
  • Experience leading or mentoring cross-functional design, engineering, and product teams.
  • Experience presenting product roadmaps, design rationale, requirements, and technical concepts to government and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing or supporting cloud-deployed web applications on platforms such as AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar.
  • Experience supporting data-intensive and/or AI/ML-enabled applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with engineering leads and government stakeholders.
  • Develop clear user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead requirements gathering, product roadmap development, and sprint execution across multiple concurrent efforts.
  • Serve as Product Owner/Project Manager for UX/UI, design, and frontend development initiatives.
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Manage project schedules, risks, priorities, resources, and deliverables.
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive and accessible frontend interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Conduct and synthesize user research, usability testing, customer interviews, and stakeholder feedback to drive iterative product and UX/UI improvements.
  • Translate customer feedback, wireframes, prototypes, and mission requirements into production-ready frontend solutions and actionable product requirements.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between design and engineering teams and government stakeholders.
  • Translate mission and operational requirements into product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain reusable component libraries and design systems to promote consistency across applications and products.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and provide seamless data presentation across complex, data-intensive applications.
  • Mentor junior UX/UI and frontend engineers and provide technical and design direction to team members.
