About The Position

We’re looking for superheroes to join our MarvelFlex team. MarvelFlex roles are Independent Contractor opportunities to consult on an ad-hoc, part-time, or short-term basis. The scope, budget, deliverables, and duration of MarvelFlex engagements differ from project to project. We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support a large-scale events and experiences team on a project. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you’ll be part of a Demos & Experiments team that produces content and experiences for innovative technology products and solutions. The team creates content featured across websites, executive events, conferences, and other high-profile initiatives. This role will help define and establish the digital direction for experiments, film, and other media. We are moving quickly and looking for a strong designer to partner with producers, creatives, and agency teams to execute an ambitious roadmap. The team engages with audiences across a variety of touchpoints and experiences. User-centered design is at the core of everything we do, requiring thoughtful consideration of every aspect of the attendee journey. From strategy through execution, we create experiences that elevate and enhance engagement at every scale.

Requirements

  • An outstanding and diverse portfolio of responsive web design projects and/or mobile applications where you contributed at least 80% of the visual design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present design solutions and articulate creative rationale.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and strategic mindset.
  • 7+ years of experience in digital design, preferably focused on interactive websites and mobile applications.
  • Experience in both digital strategy and creative ideation related to interactive products and experiences.
  • Experience within the technology sector or significant commercial experience in an agency or design studio environment.
  • Understanding of the broader marketing landscape and customer/user experience considerations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated belief that collaboration and inclusion lead to stronger creative outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing design systems using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Principle, InVision, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with video and photo editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience designing products intended for production environments.
  • Experience working on projects that blend physical and digital experiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience co-leading the development and execution of digital experiences and interactive content.
  • Experience writing, copy editing, and developing narratives, storylines, or information architecture.
  • Brand design or creative agency experience.
  • Experience working with large technology organizations and interdisciplinary teams of 10+ people.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Demos & Experiments team by defining the end-to-end design language for key digital experiences.
  • Creating visual elements that combine iconography, typography, color, and spatial design to help users successfully navigate digital products and experiences.
  • Translating strategy and creative concepts into best-in-class digital experiences while working within established brand guidelines and visual standards.
  • Participating in creative brainstorming sessions and translating ideas into compelling visual experiences, including illustrations, websites, mobile applications, and interactive experiences.
  • Concepting, Wireframing, Visual Design & Prototyping: Create aesthetically pleasing and functional user interfaces for interactive demos and digital experiences.
  • Developing projects from visual concepts and wireframes through final visual design.
  • Building interactive prototypes to visualize user flows and interface elements.
  • Iterating designs based on feedback and usability findings.
  • Design Alignment, Feedback & Iteration: Serving as a bridge between internal teams and external partners, ensuring design work aligns with brand standards, project goals, and user needs.
  • Reviewing design deliverables and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborating on revisions to refine and finalize UI designs.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with designers, developers, product managers, producers, and stakeholders to ensure design vision aligns with project goals and is implemented effectively.
  • Gathering feedback and making adjustments to maintain consistency and quality across all design work.
