You’ll be based in our York office or working remotely in the UK, contributing to the design of intuitive, data-rich, and scalable experiences that power enterprise planning across finance, operations, and strategy. As a senior individual contributor, you’ll lead design for high-impact areas of the Anaplan platform, partnering with product, engineering, and research teams to solve complex user challenges. You’ll act as a design lead within your domain, help shape our design standards, and mentor other designers as we continue to grow our UX practice. This role is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives on end-to-end ownership and is ready to take on broader leadership within cross-functional teams, without direct people management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX or product design, ideally in enterprise SaaS or data-rich platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, end-to-end design projects.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to simplify complex workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep proficiency with Figma, prototyping, and working within design systems.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to mentor others.
  • Exposure to Agile development and working across product teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in financial planning, enterprise modeling, or workflow-heavy tools.
  • Experience designing user interfaces that incorporate AI or machine learning, such as recommendations, natural language input, or predictive insight.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Anaplan, SAP, Workday, or similar systems.
  • An interest in shaping team processes, design rituals, or operational tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design strategy and execution for one or more critical areas of the Anaplan platform.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers throughout discovery and delivery.
  • Translate complex user needs into clear, intuitive experiences, wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system and platform-wide UX standards.
  • Guide and support associate designers through mentorship and design critiques.
  • Partner with UX researchers to validate design decisions and inform your approach with user data.
  • Present your work to cross-functional stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and rationale.
  • Educate and champion human-centered design methodologies by training product teams on design thinking frameworks and advocating for user-centered approaches that keep customer needs at the forefront of all product decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional design thinking workshops to facilitate problem-solving sessions with stakeholders from engineering, product, and business teams, fostering collaborative ideation and breakthrough innovation approaches.
  • Help shape the future of UX at Anaplan by advocating for best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of the design thinking initiative, track outcomes from ideation to implementation, and continuously refine processes based on learnings and feedback.
