About The Position

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to drive discovery across our portfolio in partnership with Engineering and Product. This role involves developing a deep understanding of learner populations, educator workflows, stakeholder goals, and technical opportunities through UX research and analytics. The designer will translate user needs into shippable designs, moving from ambiguous problem spaces to refined flows and production-ready artifacts, while owning quality through handoff. A key aspect of this role is championing accessibility and inclusive design, applying WCAG standards and inclusive design principles across all work. The designer will also contribute to a coherent design system by evolving shared components, patterns, and documentation. Additionally, the role requires orienting towards outcomes, helping to define product outcomes that align with business goals and strategy, and setting up systems to track design effectiveness. Strong communication and influence skills are essential for articulating design rationale clearly in cross-functional settings and building shared understanding. Finally, the designer will share craft, process knowledge, and design best practices with other designers and team members, contributing to a culture of feedback and growth.

Requirements

• 4+ years of UX or product design experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3+ years with a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated experience working across multiple product types, user segments, or problem domains — with the ability to ramp quickly in new contexts.
• Portfolio that showcases end-to-end design work, including discovery, research, user flows, prototypes, shipped solutions, and measurable impact.
• Strong systems-level thinking, with the ability to consider how design decisions interact across a product ecosystem, identify cross-product inconsistencies, and contribute to shared design language and patterns.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity — capable of framing problems, scoping research, and building design momentum in early-stage or undefined problem spaces.
• Proficiency in Figma and user research/testing tools.
• Fluency in WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and agile product development methodologies.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of building effective working relationships across Design, Product and Engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in ed tech or mission-driven digital products preferred.
• Familiarity with Learning Management System (LMS) environments and the technical constraints of edtech platforms a plus.
