About The Position

Intertek is seeking a remote Senior UX Designer to join its People Assurance team. The role owns UX for agreed Wisetail product areas and partners closely with the Lead Product Designer on Convergence. The designer will shape the new platform through user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and informed design decisions while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and other designers as both products evolve. The Head of Design sets priorities and balances the workload across Wisetail and Convergence. The position involves understanding customer problems and workflows, mapping user journeys and information architecture, creating annotated wireframes and interactive prototypes, conducting usability testing, and developing accessible, responsive interfaces using shared design components. The Senior UX Designer will lead UX for designated Wisetail areas across web and mobile, support implementation with clear specifications and design reviews, and contribute customer insights and reusable patterns to Convergence work. The role is remote and follows a Monday–Friday schedule during business hours. The listed base salary starts at $145,000, with individual compensation based on factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience independently designing complex digital products and owning substantial workflows from problem framing through implementation and iteration.
Deep UX skills in task analysis, information architecture, navigation, and interaction design, including the ability to untangle requirements, identify gaps, and explain complex behavior with clear flows and annotated wireframes.
Strong Figma and interactive prototyping skills, with the ability to select an appropriate level of detail for exploration, testing, and implementation.
Experience planning or conducting usability testing, synthesizing research and product evidence, and changing designs based on findings.
Solid interface design skills, including visual hierarchy, layout, accessibility, and responsive behavior, and the ability to deliver clear, consistent UI within a design system.
Experience working with engineers on feasibility, data, permissions, and implementation tradeoffs; ability to document interactions precisely and remain involved during implementation.
Clear communication, sound judgment, and ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and other designers.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product and Engineering to understand customer problems, requirements, and workflow maps; identify missing information, challenge assumptions, and compare approaches.
Map user journeys, task flows, information architecture, and navigation, clarifying relationships among users, roles, permissions, learning content, and administration tools.
Create detailed wireframes and clickable prototypes, documenting interactions, decision points, dependencies, and loading, empty, error, and recovery states.
Plan and conduct usability testing with research partners, build on existing customer research, identify areas of user difficulty, and use findings to improve flows and interaction decisions.
Carry agreed workflows through to clear, accessible interfaces using shared design components, applying visual hierarchy, layout, and responsive behavior.
Lead UX for agreed Wisetail product areas and coordinate with existing designers across web and mobile.
Work with engineers throughout implementation, maintain design specifications, resolve questions, and review the built experience for intended behavior, accessibility, and interface quality.
Partner with the Lead Product Designer on Convergence journeys, navigation, wireframes, and usability decisions.
Bring Wisetail and Alchemy customer insights into Convergence work, share reusable patterns, and agree on priorities across products with the Head of Design.
