About The Position

Artsy’s mission is to expand the art market to support more artists and art in the world. We combine deep curiosity and empathy for collectors, artists, and galleries with clear ownership and accountability for results. We value openness, diverse perspectives, and continuous learning as we challenge the status quo of the art world. We prioritize impact, moving decisively - to build a more transparent, accessible, and inclusive global marketplace. As we evolve our product organization and deepen our presence in the U.S. market, we are hiring a Senior User Researcher based in New York to embed closely with our NYC-based product and commercial teams and drive high-impact, market-aware research. This is a true senior-level position responsible for shaping product strategy, influencing roadmaps, and raising the craft bar for research across the organization. The Senior User Researcher will own complex research initiatives and act as a strategic partner to Product, Design, Data, and Commercial stakeholders. This role requires strong stakeholder leadership, executive-level communication, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving marketplace environment. • Based in New York City and able to collaborate in real time with U.S. stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive research that shapes product strategy and accelerates growth, grounded in a deep understanding of both collector and gallerist needs across our two-sided marketplace.
  • Partner on shaping research priorities, then autonomously design and execute robust research approaches that generate high-impact, decision-ready insights.
  • Partner closely with NYC-based Product Managers, Design, Data, and Commercial stakeholders to proactively shape roadmaps.
  • Serve as the voice of the user within cross-functional teams, ensuring decisions are grounded in credible, well-synthesized insight.
  • Influence prioritization through clear articulation of user risk, opportunity, and impact.
  • Design and execute advanced qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., in-depth interviews, usability testing, diary studies, segmentation, surveys, mixed-methods synthesis).
  • Work with Data to integrate behavioral analytics with attitudinal insights.
  • Build and evolve scalable research frameworks for a two-sided marketplace.
  • Deeply understand collector and gallery behavior, and art market dynamics.
  • Conduct in-market research with collectors and galleries along with unexplored markets.
  • Serve as a key research presence for U.S. initiatives and experiments.
