Position Summary Guided by a belief in extensive data analysis and a commitment to collaborative global relationships, the UPW-IWT team [Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Industrial Wastewater (IWT)] is responsible for providing continuous, safe and high quality utilities to our Semiconductor factory (Fab). At our water and wastewater plants on the Samsung Austin Semiconductor (Taylor) campus, our Operations teams’ drive for sustainability and operational excellence is balanced by our need to adopt tomorrow’s technologies to ensure plant resilience, environmental stewardship, and the safety of our staff. The UPW-IWT Project team is a cohesive group of engineers focused on comprehensively owning Project Improvements and supporting Operations and Process Engineering team with start-up, commissioning and retrofit projects. As a critical team member of WTR Projects Team, the UPW-IWT Project Engineer owns the development and execution of system improvements, supporting the Fab through commissioning, start-ups, and retrofit projects. Key responsibilities include managing external design consultants and general contractors while updating process requirements and operating procedures. The role focuses on delivering high-quality utility infrastructure through a combination of innovative engineering and structured project management processes.

Requirements

B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering.
7+ years of experience in an Engineering environment, preferably within Design or Operations.
Working knowledge of general water treatment technologies and/or processes.
Minimum 4 years chemical/mechanical design and project experience in an industrial setting.
Semiconductor fab experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of experience in a Facilities/Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Project Management environment.
Advanced knowledge of wastewater treatment systems.
Basic knowledge of water treatment systems.
Professional Engineering License a plus.
PMP Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Practice full ownership and accountability for the entire WTR system, accepting that we function as one team, failing or succeeding together.
Ensure that a safe work environment is maintained for yourself, the team and all stakeholders.
Research, develop, test and implement Innovative technology upgrade projects that improve UPW-IWT system quality, reliability and/or safety.
Continually evaluate and update process requirements, new technologies, and operating procedures for UPW-IWT Systems.
Sustain transparent and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders on any quality, safety, cost issues.
Lead and execute on critical projects that support operations and process improvements.
Manage site Consultant Design Team to develop, review and approve SAS site Mechanical specifications and design packages for commercial/process systems.
Manage Construction General Contractor activities related to new and retrofit construction.
Help develop and maintain our overall project management systems and processes.
