About The Position

Manulife’s Underwriting Team is renowned for thought leadership and innovative ways to underwrite complex files. We are looking for growth-minded, experienced, Senior Underwriting Consultants to join our team! We offer industry-leading training and development and support beyond traditional underwriting roles. This is a work from home position, and we are open to candidates in any Canadian province.

Requirements

• You are continuously learning – currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses.
• Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter, at least 5 years of experience.
• Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance
• Be on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine, knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment.
• General awareness of current events, industry issues and trends.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define, research and solve problems.
• Excellent mentoring skills.
• Exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to understand, preserve and apply current technical information to everyday work problems.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
• A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.
