About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Consumer Lending for Auto. This role involves reviewing and analyzing complex consumer credit applications for auto loans, evaluating credit bureau reports, income documentation, collateral valuation, and other supporting materials. The Senior Underwriter will make sound credit decisions within established authority levels using both automated scoring systems and manual underwriting, and communicate decisions and rationale clearly to internal partners and customers. The position requires ensuring credit files are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and company standards, collaborating with internal teams to resolve application issues and provide recommendations, and maintaining awareness of risk and compliance requirements throughout the underwriting process.

Requirements

4+ years of Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

4+ years of experience in underwriting, loan processing, originations, or closing.
Strong understanding of credit principles and lending practices.
Proficiency in reviewing financial documents and assessing creditworthiness.
Extensive experience in auto lending or consumer finance.
Familiarity with underwriting systems and tools.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
