About The Position

AXA XL’s U.S. Risk Management team is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join its Central Zone underwriting team. The role focuses on producing, underwriting, managing, and servicing a profitable book of new and renewal business in accordance with AXA XL guidelines. The Senior Underwriter reviews and analyzes risks, determines pricing and policy terms within granted authority, negotiates coverage terms, and develops broker and client relationships. The position also involves providing risk stewardship, coordinating account setup and ongoing service, collaborating with internal service providers, cross-marketing AXA XL products, and managing underwriting strategies for renewals and target accounts. The role reports to the Head of Central USRM.

Responsibilities

Produce, underwrite, manage, and service a profitable book of new and renewal business in accordance with AXA XL underwriting guidelines.
Conduct risk reviews and analyses; determine terms, conditions, and appropriate pricing within granted authority and company guidelines.
Negotiate and secure policy terms that align with AXA XL directives.
Cultivate key broker relationships in the region to maintain a steady stream of business within the underwriting appetite.
Build effective relationships with accounts and provide risk stewardship, including initial service commitments and ongoing consultation.
Complete account setup, documentation, and account management requirements.
Partner with internal service providers to build long-term customer and broker relationships and manage expectations.
Cross-market with other AXA XL lines and meet with brokers and insureds as required.
Develop and manage underwriting strategies for renewals and target accounts, including assessing product and cross-marketing penetration and planning to increase company share.
