About The Position

FIRST Insurance Funding, a subsidiary of Wintrust, provides premium financing services and related services for insurance agencies. The Senior Underwriter analyzes financial data and other credit information to determine loan terms and pricing, approves quote requests within their authority, and recommends approval for loans above that authority. The role also serves as a source of financial and industry knowledge for colleagues and works directly with clients to develop customized financing solutions for complex policies and competitive situations. The position includes participating in assigned department responsibilities, making customer visits, attending relevant industry conferences, and serving as a beginner-level subject matter expert on the key industry.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite, including intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
• Creative and open-minded problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and other credit information to determine loan terms and pricing.
• Approve quote requests within the level of authority commensurate with experience.
• Make recommendations for approval on loans above personal authority.
• Provide financial and industry knowledge to other employees.
