About The Position

Honeycomb Insurance is hiring a remote Senior Underwriter for the East Region. The role uses data, AI, and modern underwriting technology to assess risk, set pricing, and determine tailored coverage and terms while profitably growing and managing a book of business spanning Habitational and Lessor's Risk Only (LRO) package and excess liability. The position offers mentorship, project assignments, personalized training and development, and opportunities for internal and external exposure to broaden professional networks and influence.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of underwriting or insurance experience, with a strong LRO background.
• Proficiency with AI and a desire to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Curiosity, a hardworking and self-accountable approach, a positive attitude, humility, and a sense of fun.
• Willingness to share opinions and remain open to others' opinions.
• Passion for acquiring, retaining, applying, and sharing knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Commercial Habitational and Specialty Property experience.
• Retail agency relationship experience.

Responsibilities

• Quote and release new and renewal Lessor's Risk Only (LRO) and habitational business referred by the underwriting algorithm or involving changes beyond user authority thresholds.
• Analyze and approve requested policy changes across the LRO and Habitational portfolio.
• Maintain familiarity with and compliance with state insurance regulations and ISO rules in all states within the assigned underwriting territory.
• Maintain open, transparent, and supportive communications with team members and interdivisional partners.
• Monitor portfolio composition through reports, audits, and inspections.
• Support marketing functions and efforts to build and promote Honeycomb.
• Complete special projects and assignments.
• Travel as deemed necessary, less than 20%.
