About The Position

This role is responsible for the complete underwriting process, including risk selection, evaluation, analysis, pricing, negotiation, and sale of Commercial risks, along with overall account management. The Senior Underwriter will manage an assigned agency force, focusing on new business production and growth, renewal retention, and fostering agency relationships through sales and marketing efforts. This position handles larger, more complex agency accounts and requires independent judgment, strong underwriting acumen, discretion, and contributions to strategic business decisions. Additionally, the role involves training and mentoring entry-level Underwriters and agency staff as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 3 years commercial lines property and casualty underwriting technical experience required.
• Continuing education in insurance and job-related issues and subjects required.
• Equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Previous sales experience preferred.
• Attainment of or working toward CPCU or other professional designation(s) preferred.
• Valid Hawaii Driver’s license.

Responsibilities
