About The Position

Evinova is a health-tech business focused on accelerating better health outcomes by advancing digital transformation across the life sciences sector. By combining science-based expertise, evidence-led rigor, and deep human insight, we design digital solutions that enable healthcare to work better for everyone. Operating at the intersection of healthcare, technology, data, and analytics, we are helping unlock the full potential of digital health, transforming how clinical research is conducted, how care is delivered, and how patients experience healthcare. Our solutions are built to scale, driving efficiency, improving decision-making, and ultimately delivering better outcomes for patients worldwide. At Evinova, we are driven by a shared purpose to transform health through data and digital innovation. Our teams collaborate across disciplines to solve complex challenges, continuously learning and evolving in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. We also recognize the importance of flexibility and balance. Our ways of working support both individual needs and team collaboration. To foster connection and collaboration, employees are expected to work from the office three days per week, creating opportunities for in-person teamwork, innovation, and meaningful connection. We are hiring a design-systems-focused Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the next evolution of the Evinova Design System. This is a hands-on role for a designer with exceptional UI and interaction design skills, craft in visual design, deep systems thinking, and a strong track record of crafting design systems in complex, multi-product environments. You will work at the intersection of design and engineering, shaping reusable components, patterns, tokens, and governance that support consistency, accessibility, speed, and scale across products. We are looking for someone who can move confidently between high-quality design execution and design system architecture, and who can drive alignment between Figma and coded implementation. As a member of the Futures Team, you will help define the next generation of design system practices, tooling, and workflows at Evinova.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of creating and maintaining a design system in a multi-product environment, including responsibility for component strategy, governance, adoption, and ongoing evolution.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual, UI, and interaction design expertise, with clear systems thinking and examples of reusable components or patterns work in complex digital products.
  • Expert Figma Skills, including ability to build and maintain design systems, enforce consistency, and manage workflows across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within design-to-code workflows, with a practical understanding of how design artifacts map to implementation.
  • Understanding of evolving AI best practices, emerging tools, and automation trends, with curiosity about how they can support design system workflows and product development.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering accessible products and embedding WCAG 2.2 AA standards into everyday design practice.
  • Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment on design system decisions across Design, Product, and Engineering.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead complex design system work in B2B or B2B2C environments.
  • Based in the Gaithersburg, Maryland area, with willingness to collaborate in office and travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare and/or digital health sectors
  • Experience designing AI-native recommendation or simulation products in collaboration with data science and engineering partners
  • Familiarity with clinical trials and the drug development lifecycle
  • A non-linear career path and diverse life experiences that enrich your perspective as a designer
  • A second language (and every additional language is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Drive the evolution of the design system across multiple products, including component strategy, governance, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, and Product to align on standards, resolve system-level challenges, and support clear decision-making.
  • Create and maintain components, patterns, and libraries to drive usability, consistency, composability, and efficiency across product experiences.
  • Prepare the design system for future-ready workflows, including AI-enabled tools, rapid prototyping, and emerging design-to-code approaches.
  • Work closely with engineering to maintain alignment between design and coded components, including tokens, properties, states, and responsive behavior.
  • Embed accessibility into component foundations and day-to-day design decisions, with WCAG 2.2 AA standards built in by default.
  • Create clear documentation, usage guidance, and release communications to support adoption and consistent use across teams.
  • Maintain a high bar for visual and interaction quality across components, patterns, and libraries.
  • Gather feedback, identify gaps, and help shape roadmap priorities to strengthen the design system over time.
