About The Position

A highly regarded insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to cover litigated claims throughout Pittsburgh, PA. This is a hybrid role: two days in office and three days remote. Base salary is $146K-$175K with a 15% bonus. Requirements

Strong litigation, research, and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience with legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
Valid driver’s license required.
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active bar membership in the applicable jurisdiction.

Nice To Haves

Minimum 15+ years of litigation experience preferred.
Trial experience (15+ cases) strongly preferred.
Background in commercial auto, premises liability, municipal, and construction negligence defense preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide legal defense and representation in complex, high-exposure litigation matters.
Represent insured clients in court.
Advise internal claims teams.
Manage cases through trial and appeal.
Advise claims professionals.
Maintain client communication.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Independently handle litigation, including court appearances, witness presentation, and evidence submission.
Develop and execute defense strategies for complex legal matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal briefs.
Manage cases through trial and appeals as assigned.
Provide legal guidance to claims professionals.
Communicate effectively with courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
Ensure timely and efficient case resolution.
Travel for depositions, court appearances, and meetings (approx. 20%).
Support training initiatives and stay current on legal developments.
