About The Position

This position supports the transportation network for fresh, frozen, and prepared shipments, including freight allocations and equipment utilization for outside carriers and the Tyson private fleet. It assists with overall supervision of the transportation department and rotates coverage for holidays, vacations, and other time off. The role also trains and supports new team members and requires learning and executing all team positions in a fast-paced, multi-transactional, multitasking environment. The position follows a day, split-shift schedule, covering either the front half or back half of the week, and requires working at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).

Requirements

Standard computer skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Three or more years of Tyson transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support transportation of fresh, frozen, and prepared shipments, including freight allocations and equipment utilization for outside carriers and the Tyson private fleet.
Rotate coverage for holidays, vacations, and time off.
Train and support new team members.
Assist in overall supervision of the transportation department.
Follow up with carriers on late deliveries.
Monitor carrier performance to ensure customer and plant service levels.
Provide equipment as needed by plants to ensure continuous loading and consistency with sales requirements.
Confirm and book loads with carriers.
Optimize distribution costs through efficient and effective carrier selection.
Learn and execute all positions to support the team.
