About The Position

The project provides expertise in logistics strategy and policy, supply chain, and asset management for the Department of War (DoW). The team supports the full lifecycle of defense-wide logistics policies, monitoring sustainment programs, and improving the visibility, accountability, and auditability of critical defense assets. This project focuses on the comprehensive modernization, systematic tracking, and cross-functional synchronization of all active logistics policies, instructions, and directives maintained by the office. By implementing rigorous administrative controls and proactive stakeholder coordination, this effort ensures all logistics guidance remains accurate, legally compliant, and aligned with modern warfighting requirements. Serve as a policy advisor and analyst on DoD-level policy development, execution, and oversight, including providing strategic, business, program management, and execution knowledge to senior leaders to ensure Service-owned transportation capabilities, U.S. Transportation Command managed assets, and civilian transportation capabilities are appropriately utilized to meet deployment and distribution requirements.

Requirements

  • Active TS-SCI Clearance Active (or must have held a TS (SCI) Clearance within the last 24 months)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET SCI Clearance and Common Access Card
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A Master’s degree can be substituted for two years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with surface transportation and traffic management, policy, and operations with relevant work in one or more of the following transportation support elements: seaport operations, transportation engineering, defense transportation system, deployment and distribution, transportation of arms, ammunition, and explosives, transportation information technology (IT) systems, customs, sea, rail, and truck operations, in-transit visibility
  • Demonstrated experience in DoD-level policy development, execution, and oversight, including providing strategic, business, program management, and execution knowledge to senior leaders to ensure Service-owned transportation capabilities, U.S. Transportation Command managed assets, and civilian transportation capabilities are appropriately utilized to meet deployment and distribution requirements
  • MBA or a Master’s degree in logistics management

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a policy advisor and analyst on DoD-level policy development, execution, and oversight
  • Provide strategic, business, program management, and execution knowledge to senior leaders
  • Ensure Service-owned transportation capabilities, U.S. Transportation Command managed assets, and civilian transportation capabilities are appropriately utilized to meet deployment and distribution requirements
  • Develop, and perform logistics management operations that involve transportation planning, coordination, and evaluation
  • Identify specific requirements for transportation assets and movement throughout the logistics enterprise while correlating those requirements with program plans to ensure that the needed support is provided at the right time and place
