About The Position

At Pfizer, the Senior Translational and Computational Biologist applies computational and biological expertise to high-value scientific questions using diverse biological, molecular, and clinical datasets. The role helps transform complex biological and clinical data into insights that support research and development decisions, working at the intersection of AI capabilities and Pfizer's scientific and therapeutic-area organizations. The position conducts and owns scoped analyses and defined biological investigations, partnering with scientists to understand research questions, identify appropriate analytical approaches, interpret results in biological and clinical context, and communicate evidence-based findings. Work may support target identification and validation, biomarker discovery, patient stratification, disease biology, translational research, clinical development, and business development assessments. Relevant data modalities may include multi-omics, single-cell and spatial biology, genetics and genomics, imaging, perturbational biology, clinical trial datasets, and real-world data and evidence. The role is intended for a scientist who can independently deliver high-quality analytical work while developing expertise in disease biology, drug discovery and development, scientific judgment, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will collaborate with computational biologists, AI scientists, translational researchers, clinicians, therapeutic-area experts, and other R&D teams, helping connect scientific problems with analytical and AI capabilities and translate results into scientific practice. This position offers guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to build increasing independence and domain expertise. The position is hybrid: colleagues must live within commuting distance of a Pfizer location and work on-site an average of 2.5 days per week. The annual U.S. base salary range is $106,000 to $176,600. The position is also eligible for a Global Performance Plan bonus target of 15% of base salary and participation in a share-based long-term incentive program. Pfizer offers benefits including a 401(k) plan with matching and an additional retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holidays and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.
