About The Position

The Computational Biologist I provides specialized computational biology, database development, and analytical support to CDC research programs. The role designs, develops, and maintains a centralized database for storing, organizing, retrieving, and visualizing biological images and experimental data generated through high-content imaging and high-throughput screening activities. The position develops scalable database architectures, data models, automated workflows, search and filtering features, dashboards, and visualization tools. It integrates imaging data with metadata and other scientific information, supports computational image analysis and statistical evaluation, and maintains computational applications and automated processes. The role also collaborates with laboratory scientists and technical teams, documents systems, and provides troubleshooting and support. Work is performed onsite in Atlanta, Georgia, primarily in a climate-controlled environment. The position has no supervisory or management authority.
