About The Position

HDR is looking for a Senior Transit Planning Project Manager to join our North Carolina team. This position may be based out of any of our NC offices (Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Wilmington). In this role, we’ll count on you to: Plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multidisciplinary projects that have a high degree of technical complexity and involve a large project staff of professionals and technicians. Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently. Establish and client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, and project meetings. Serve as Project Manager on small, medium, and large transportation and transit projects. Participate in proposal development and other marketing activities as a seller-doer pursuit champion or support role, as appropriate. Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders . Implement QA/QC procedures and perform detailed QC reviews of transportation and transit projects. Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule. Work with Transit Market Sector Leader and other area leaders to coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project lifecycle, supervise project staff, act as a mentor for less-experienced Project Managers, and execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans. Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews. Perform other duties, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and related professional experience
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification
  • AICP certification, local candidates are preferred
  • Familiar with Primavera P3 or SureTrak software preferred
  • Familiar with Prolog software preferred
