About The Position

Under general direction, the Senior Training Specialist conducts comprehensive analyses and assessments of training needs, identifies competency gaps, and designs and implements customized training programs to develop employees’ skills and abilities in alignment with the City’s core values of Accountability, Communication, and Teamwork. The position requires knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve organizational training objectives.

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The position is scheduled for four days per week and a 36-hour work week. The selection process may include application screening, a virtual prescreen interview, an oral board interview, pre-employment screening, and other written, performance, or oral assessments. Compensation is listed as $69,765.69–$111,527.72.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Training and Development, Human Resources, or a closely related field.
• Five years of experience in training and development, with a focus on needs assessment, instructional design, and training delivery.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nevada state driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in Learning and Development, Adult Learning and Training, Human Resources Management, or a closely related field may be considered.
• Applicants relying on foreign education to meet minimum qualifications must provide a U.S. equivalency evaluation from a current NACES or AICE member; applicants are responsible for associated costs.
