Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Training Specialist (Part-Time) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. This role involves performing a variety of instructional support functions including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of training. The specialist will use effective training methods to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills required to perform their jobs safely and competently. Responsibilities include assisting training staff, reviewing training materials, potentially acting in a lead capacity for a subject area or training program administration, and being accountable for training results in that area. Significant involvement with identifying training needs is expected. The role may also involve acting as a Subcontract Technical Representative, coordinating subcontracted personnel efforts, budgeting, man-hour accounting, and overseeing work accomplishment. Input into the budgeting process for a particular training program may also be required. The specialist must complete requirements for a qualified Instructional Technologist in accordance with Manual 4B, Training and Qualification. This includes presenting training in various settings, monitoring and promoting trainee achievement of objectives, conducting trainee evaluation and remediation, and maintaining accurate records and files. Evaluation of training effectiveness through end-of-course evaluations and exam results compilation, as well as providing training status updates to management, are key duties. The role also requires conducting needs, job, and task analyses, developing and maintaining task-to-training matrices, designing training with specific objectives, sequencing, methods, and settings, and developing test items that measure trainee performance. Developing and revising training materials based on feedback and changes in equipment, procedures, or policies is also a core function. Evaluating training materials for compliance with DOE O 426.2, Manual 4B, and industry standards, conducting training program assessments and Management Field Observations (MFOs), and providing guidance to training staff on instructor skills and training processes are also expected.
