About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of instructional support functions including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of training programs. Uses effective training methods to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills required to perform their jobs safely and competently. Provides assistance to training staff members by supporting training activities and reviewing and evaluating training materials prior to approval. May act in a lead capacity for a limited subject area or administration of a training program and may be held accountable for training results in that area. Responsible for identifying training needs and may act as a Subcontract Technical Representative, coordinating subcontracted personnel efforts including budgeting, man-hour accounting, and oversight of work accomplishment. May provide input into the budgeting process for assigned training programs. Completes requirements for qualification as an Instructional Technologist in accordance with Manual 4B, Training and Qualification. Key responsibilities include: Present training in a variety of settings and monitor trainee achievement of objectives Conduct trainee evaluations and remediation Maintain accurate training records including rosters, examinations, and transmittals Evaluate training effectiveness through end-of-course evaluations and exam data analysis Provide training status updates to management Conduct needs, job, and task analyses for assigned training projects Develop and maintain task-to-training matrices Design training programs including objectives, sequencing, instructional methods, and training settings Develop test items and evaluation instruments aligned with learning objectives and cognitive levels Develop and revise training materials based on feedback, procedural changes, policy updates, or equipment changes Evaluate training materials for compliance with DOE O 426.2, Manual 4B, industry standards, and good practices Conduct training program assessments and Management Field Observations (MFOs) Provide guidance to training staff on instructor skills and training processes Develop Training Program Descriptions (TPDs) Respond to internal and external audits and surveillances, develop corrective actions (STAR), and track items to closure Perform training administration tasks including LMS navigation, training forms, and training material production Maintain current knowledge in assigned fields of expertise Safety is a primary responsibility. Employees must comply with safety rules, complete required safety training, and stop work if unsafe conditions exist.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus 12 years of relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed, or 10 years of SRS facility operations experience
  • Associate Degree plus 8 years of relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance
  • Active DOE clearance is not required to start ; timing determined post-award based on assignment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior DOE L or Q clearance within the past two years
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two or more years of training and/or education experience
  • Strong knowledge of DOE Orders, Manual 4B, Training Administrative Guides, and site procedures
  • Experience applying the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
  • Experience developing effective training materials from SME input, procedures, and technical documentation
  • Experience evaluating instructional staff and training materials for compliance and effectiveness
  • 10 or more years of experience as a qualified or certified Rigger or Mobile Crane Operator
  • Strong working knowledge of rigging and crane operations, standards, and practices
  • Familiarity with the SRS Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and task-to-training analysis
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal laws, DOE Orders, and SRS training policies
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and identify causes of training deficiencies
  • Qualified or able to qualify as an instructor in accordance with SRS Manual 4B
  • Working knowledge of TM90-7, The Site Hoisting and Rigging Manual
  • Security / Clearance Clearance not required to start (uncleared)
  • Must be eligible to obtain DOE Q clearance if required by assignment
