Senior Traffic Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer / Business Developer to join our growing traffic team in New York City. Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and a PE license in NY, NJ, or CT
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering
- 8 years of experience in project management
- 5 years of experience working with NYDOT, CTDOT, and/or NJDOT.
- Strong understanding of transportation planning and traffic engineering principles
- Demonstrated skill at project management and business development.
- Proven track record coordinating teams from different disciplines and delivering large scale transportation projects.
- Familiarity with NEPA guidelines and regional standards (NY, NJ, CT)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for diverse audiences
- Proven leadership and ability to manage interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Nice To Haves
- PTOE and/or RSP certifications are a plus
Responsibilities
- Actively participates and leads business development by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and assisting in preparing proposals on various pursuits
- Helps lead our team of TPTE professionals.
- Manages resources to ensure projects are completed accurately and within budget and time frame.
- Takes an active mentoring role; encourages, motivates, and develops staff for high performance.
- Leads transportation planning studies, traffic impact analyses, and safety assessments – including Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning and Environmental Linkages studies
- Participates in interviews and hiring of new staff members.
- Collaborate with roadway and structural engineers on iterative design processes
- Represents the organization at professional organizations and conferences.
- Present technical concepts at public meetings and support stakeholder engagement
