We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer / Business Developer to join our growing traffic team in New York City. Your Opportunity As a key member of our team, you’ll lead and support a variety of transportation projects that make a real impact.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and a PE license in NY, NJ, or CT
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering
  • 8 years of experience in project management
  • 5 years of experience working with NYDOT, CTDOT, and/or NJDOT.
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning and traffic engineering principles
  • Demonstrated skill at project management and business development.
  • Proven track record coordinating teams from different disciplines and delivering large scale transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with NEPA guidelines and regional standards (NY, NJ, CT)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for diverse audiences
  • Proven leadership and ability to manage interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • PTOE and/or RSP certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates and leads business development by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and assisting in preparing proposals on various pursuits
  • Helps lead our team of TPTE professionals.
  • Manages resources to ensure projects are completed accurately and within budget and time frame.
  • Takes an active mentoring role; encourages, motivates, and develops staff for high performance.
  • Leads transportation planning studies, traffic impact analyses, and safety assessments – including Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning and Environmental Linkages studies
  • Participates in interviews and hiring of new staff members.
  • Collaborate with roadway and structural engineers on iterative design processes
  • Represents the organization at professional organizations and conferences.
  • Present technical concepts at public meetings and support stakeholder engagement
