About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Traffic Engineer to join their team full-time to support large transformative transportation projects across the nation. These projects often have construction values greater than $1 billion and aim to enhance mobility, safety, and reliability for communities. The position is remote, offering flexibility in work location while supporting virtual collaboration. Parsons is a leading design-build firm with a global presence, known for its work on challenging infrastructure projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with traffic engineering is required.
  • Microstation or AutoCAD proficiency is a must.
  • Adept understanding of methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Signal Warrant studies.
  • SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM and SIDRA combination of expertise is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of roadway lighting design including photometric analysis is also highly desirable.
  • PE registration is highly preferred.
  • PTOE certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and produce a variety of traffic engineering plans and reports.
  • Deliver traffic signal design, signing, striping, lighting, and traffic control plans along with quantity tabulation.
  • Assist with analysis, design, and implementation of projects such as corridor studies, traffic impact studies, alternative intersection design, and traffic operational analysis.
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
  • May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
  • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Take part in Parsons’ quality management plan to implement QA/QC procedures.
