About The Position

As a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist, reporting to the North America Trade Manager, you will work in a team environment on multiple projects improving North America Trade Management (NATM) and partners. You will have import and export compliance experience, an understanding of trade-related financial processes, and experience supporting compliance systems, audit tools, and data management activities. Through knowledge of compliance processes, regulations, and financial impacts, you will guide compliance projects, lead continuous improvement efforts, support audit programs, and provide training and guidance to company partners. You will report to the Trade Compliance Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Milwaukee, WI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in relevant field (i.e. International Business, Business, Classification, Import, and Export).
  • Licensed Customs Broker.
  • SAP/GTS experience.
  • Experienced in dealing directly with US Customs and Border Protection.
  • Knowledge of international freight forwarding/transportation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement and productivity projects; implement changes required by regulatory changes related to import and export compliance.
  • Be a primary resource for trade compliance databases and audit tools, including system maintenance, access management, data integrity reviews, reporting enhancements, user support, and continuous improvement projects to support compliance operations.
  • Improve cost productivity (duty savings/avoidance, feasibility studies).
  • Develop processes, process improvements, procedures, manuals and systems to support import/export compliance.
  • Lead monitoring of changing regulations and trade policies to determine impact to business and provide risk and cost mitigation.
  • Be a trade compliance ambassador to provide intracompany training to departments and promote awareness of import/export compliance.
  • Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations.
  • Make formal presentations in meetings, and respond to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors related to import/export compliance.
  • Manage import/export related record retention.
  • Collaborate with other departments on special projects such as distribution strategies, business continuity/contingency planning, and product line moves.
  • Promote trade compliance metrics, dashboards, and management .reporting to monitor compliance performance, identify risks and trends, support regulatory reporting requirements, and provide relevant insights to leadership.
  • Participate in CBP Compliance Reviews and responsible for providing all requested information.
