Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks and communication methods.
  • Knowledge of metric and imperial measurement systems and their application in a technical environment.
  • Experience using common measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with measurement sensors and instrumentation, including devices such as tachometers, load cells, flowmeters, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to support and perform test setup, execution, teardown, and inspection activities.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to test equipment, tooling, and setups.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Able to assemble and disassemble precision tooling on and off test equipment
  • Can program automated test equipment and test sequences
  • Good math skills, including decimals, fractions, and metric/imperial conversions
  • Works well with others and supports a team environment
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of quality, safety, health, and environmental requirements
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with Mechanical/Electrical systems
  • Technical Associate Degree or High School Diploma / GED with 5 plus years working in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the test lab meets the needs of engineering, end customers, and of the global JTEKT manufacturing facilities by correctly performing and documenting physical testing.
  • Help ensure existing lab machinery and supporting devices remain in ideal condition.
  • Support the ideation, assembly, and launch of new test equipment.
  • Perform test setup and teardown.
  • Perform post-test part inspection.
  • Perform inspections, measurements, and evaluations following testing activities and accurately document results.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
