Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Previous production design experience.
  • CAD experience.
  • Experience working with most common nacelle components: metallics, composites, seals, blankets.
  • Experience working with engineering release and component certification process.
  • Experience with MS Office Skills, especially Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous test design experience.
  • Fabrication and testing experience of Nacelle components (Fire, Lightning, Structural and/or Vibration).
  • Knowledge of M&P specifications.
  • Familiarity with Test Plans, Test Deviations and Test Reports.
  • CAD 3D Mechanical and 2D Drafting (required), with knowledge of CATIA V5.
  • ENOVIA experience.
  • Teamcenter PLM.
  • Able to meet technical deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Able to assess an issue from perspectives of the other stakeholders.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and customers, following priority lists and fast-paced changing schedules.
  • Understanding of lean/Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize Test design packages following engineering requirement inputs.
  • Design 3D models working closely with multiple engineering stakeholders.
  • Create 2D drawings of test models to be used for manufacturing.
  • Write and check manufacturing assembly planning.
  • Maintain configuration management of parts within assigned test designs.
  • Directly support lab staff providing technical guidance, including engineers and technicians, throughout the building process.
  • Work closely with the associated project engineer to fulfill test requirements.
  • Lead Test design reviews, drive presentations, and address queries from technical stakeholders.
  • Report progress, support troubleshooting, and escalate concerns on tier meetings.
