About The Position

The Senior Test Automation Engineer will join a team in Charlotte, North Carolina, and help ensure the quality and reliability of the DDS application. The role focuses on developing and executing automated API and UI tests, designing manual functional tests, and improving testing processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will bring substantial test automation experience, an understanding of software development processes, and a commitment to high-quality software delivery. The engineer will develop reusable and maintainable automation components, execute test plans, report and analyze results, prepare test data, and review testing work products. The role also supports test environment setup and maintenance, helps manual testers identify cases for automation, troubleshoots technical issues, and participates in testing for production deployments and remediation.

Requirements

10+ years of experience.
Proficiency in Java programming and development using IntelliJ IDE.
Experience with test automation frameworks, specifically Java Rest Assured for API testing.
Strong knowledge of UI automation tools such as Java Selenium or Playwright.
Familiarity with Maven within the IntelliJ environment.
Experience designing and executing manual functional tests using HP ALM or Xray.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug Java code effectively.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute automated API functional tests for the DDS application using Java Rest Assured.
Create and implement automated UI functional tests using Java Selenium or Playwright.
Design and perform manual functional tests using tools such as HP ALM or Xray.
Code and troubleshoot Java daily to ensure optimal performance.
Participate in software design and review sessions to align test plans with business requirements.
Develop configurable, maintainable, reusable, and dependable test automation components.
Execute test plans, record and report results, and assist with analyzing test results.
Prepare and acquire test data, and conduct peer reviews of test work products.
Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments and development of test case automation criteria.
Support manual testers with automation needs and identify manual test cases for conversion into automation scripts.
Identify technical and operational problems on installed systems, products, and/or services.
Prepare for and participate in testing activities for production deployments and remediation.
Conduct manual testing as needed and perform other duties as assigned or requested.
