About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join a long-term project focused on improving the quality, robustness and maintainability of a mission-critical software solution operating in a highly regulated environment. You will contribute to a strategic initiative aimed at significantly increasing automated test coverage, detecting defects earlier in the development lifecycle and reducing regression and maintenance risks. This is a highly technical testing role combining software engineering, test automation and quality assurance, with a strong focus on C/C++ and Python.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in software test automation
• Very good programming/scripting skills in C/C++ and Python
• Experience testing both HMI/user-interface and backend software
• Solid knowledge of automated testing methodologies and test architecture
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments
• Ability to analyse complex systems and identify meaningful test coverage gaps
• Experience with test reporting, traceability and coverage metrics
• Strong documentation skills and a structured, quality-focused approach
• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with technical teams

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing software interfaces, test environments and current test coverage
• Identify critical gaps and define appropriate automated testing strategies
• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites
• Develop automated tests for software interfaces and configuration/static data
• Create boundary-value and out-of-range testing scenarios
• Increase automated pre-integration and regression test coverage
• Create and maintain test data, including simulated or stubbed external inputs where required
• Contribute to performance, load, stability, reliability and security testing
• Integrate automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines
• Produce clear test reports, coverage metrics and traceability documentation
• Analyse test failures and help distinguish software defects from test-related issues
• Document test environments, installation, configuration and execution procedures
• Collaborate closely with software engineering and product teams and contribute to knowledge transfer
