About The Position
Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Senior Telemetry & Trajectory Engineer in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will provide technical and advisory assistance to the Targets Program Office by aiding in the refinement and implementation of Target trajectories in support of the agency's flight test events to validate weapon and system sensors. You will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Test (DT) Targets Program Office with the development of missile defense target vehicles. You will also support the Targets System Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test, including requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, and test analysis and reporting. Technical focus areas include vehicle telemetry design and analysis. You will utilize knowledge, skills, and experience with missile characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product development. You will configure and operate telemetry data acquisition equipment during test events, perform vehicle telemetry data decommutation, reduction, conversions, etc., and generate target vehicle visualizations, situational awareness displays, and reports/briefings. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field (e.g., physics, engineering, math)
- 7+ years of experience in missile defense related or other DoD programs/projects
- Proficient with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and other programming languages
- Experience with telemetry systems, data acquisition, and analysis
- Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
- Experience in any or all of the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical Signatures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
