About The Position

As a Sr. Technical Product Manager in Optum Technology, you will lead the strategy, design, and technical delivery of enterprise software platforms and scalable AI-powered solutions. You will collaborate closely with software engineering teams, system architects, data specialists, and business stakeholders to build, integrate, and deploy intelligent capabilities and automated workflows. Your efforts will address complex business challenges, drive operational continuous improvement, and power innovative healthcare technology solutions at scale. Our Mission is to enable and modernize procurement capabilities by owning the technology platforms, integrations, data, AI solutions, security, and delivery processes that support sourcing, contracting, supplier management, procurement operations, and employee procurement experiences. The team acts as the technology partner for Enterprise Procurement, translating business needs into scalable digital solutions. You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in digital product management, capability management, consulting, or equivalent experience, with ownership of end-to-end product initiatives
3+ years of hands-on experience in gathering and evaluating requirements and also writing and translating business requirements

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical technical product management experience)
3+ years of experience operating within Agile/Scrum development lifecycles and utilizing project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
2+ years of experience working with AI/ML systems, automated workflows, intelligent integrations, or data-driven software solutions
Demonstrated experience partnering with engineering and data teams to build, deploy, and scale enterprise technology solutions
Product Management or Agile Certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Agilist)
Hands-on experience with cloud platform architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, API integrations, and data pipelines
Knowledge of responsible AI governance, ethical AI framework implementation, and model monitoring practices
Professional experience within the healthcare, health technology, or pharmacy domain

Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical product vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise systems and intelligent software solutions
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with an emphasis on responsible use of AI
Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement across product development processes
Evaluate emerging trends and technology capabilities to inform solution design, architecture planning, and strategic innovation
Translate business objectives into actionable technical specifications, system architecture requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Manage and prioritize technical product backlogs, balancing feature releases, model/platform integrations, technical debt, and system reliability
Monitor product performance metrics, system key performance indicators (KPIs), and solution outcomes to drive continuous optimizations
