About The Position

The Senior Technologist role is part of Infosys’ Strategic Technology Group (STG), which brings together specialist programmers, senior technologists, and technical leaders to address complex, large-scale technology challenges. The group works across software design and development, cloud-native architectures, enterprise platforms, data engineering, and emerging technologies, including generative AI and agentic AI. Members help shape technology direction, solve complex business challenges, deliver resilient outcomes, mentor teams, and influence best practices across programs. In this role, you will evaluate project requirements and use cases, design technology frameworks and reusable assets, and deliver high-quality, production-ready code across applications, databases, and integrations. You will help develop design patterns and reference implementations, participate in design reviews, optimize and debug code, and support code quality and delivery consistency. You will also develop proofs of concept for emerging technologies, contribute to high-risk multi-technology deployments, address technical challenges and risks, and support test automation and quality strategies. The role includes hands-on AI development work. You will contribute to stages of the AI development lifecycle, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, optimization, and deployment; assist with fine-tuning pretrained LLMs; and collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers. You are expected to stay informed about generative AI advancements, share learnings, and follow responsible AI practices, including awareness of bias mitigation, fairness, and traceability. The position may require relocation and/or travel to the work or project location. Infosys does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.

Requirements

Experience in core development, with working knowledge of analysis and design.
Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions and apply established design and architecture patterns in assigned modules.
Hands-on exposure to implementing agentic AI, building RAG pipelines, and using MCP through project work or prior roles.
Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning architectures, and natural language processing.
Proficiency in Python and LangChain, and working experience with AI cloud services such as AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI and with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Ability to write clean, well-tested, performant code.
Working experience with open-source frameworks and tools.
Good collaboration and communication skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution; three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.

Responsibilities

Evaluate project requirements and use cases and produce high-quality designs, frameworks, and production-ready code.
Design technology frameworks for complex scenarios; develop design patterns and reference implementations; create reusable assets; and conduct design reviews.
Deliver high-quality code across applications, databases, and integrations.
Optimize code, debug complex routines, and develop code generators and pilot implementations for reusable components.
Work with other teams to align on project goals and technology implementations.
Provide technical guidance to peers and help maintain delivery consistency and code quality.
Identify and independently develop proofs of concept for emerging technologies and complex modules, ensuring timely delivery.
Provide input for high-risk, multi-technology and multi-language deployments.
Evaluate and implement technical services that meet quality-of-service requirements and align with business and IT KPIs.
Deliver defect-free code and reusable assets to meet quality benchmarks and Zero-Defect Delivery goals.
Support complex projects by resolving technical challenges and reducing risk exposure.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform decisions and improve project outcomes.
Support test automation and execute test strategies to improve quality.
Assist with fine-tuning pretrained LLMs for specific tasks and domains, with guidance from senior team members.
Take ownership of individual AI development lifecycle stages, such as data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, optimization, or deployment.
Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and flag technical feasibility concerns early.
Share learnings about generative AI advancements and follow responsible AI practices, including awareness of bias mitigation, fairness, and traceability.
Review the performance of own code and assigned components, act on feedback, and participate in code reviews.
Support proofs of concept for new technologies and take responsibility for defined portions of the work.
