This position assists engineers with the assembly and fabrication of prototype systems to support Integrated Defense Solutions programs. Work is performed as part of a team to produce solutions for both internal and external customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Desire to work in an engineering design and fabrication environment
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff in a team-based environment
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Nice To Haves

Previous fabrication shop experience
Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications
Associate degree in engineering technology or a related technical field
Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, machinery, and assembly processes
2 years of college or relevant experience

Responsibilities

Assists higher-level technical staff to support engineering builds
Conducts assigned work, with limited supervision, required for the project according to instructions or protocol
Communicates results and problems to the supervisor
Asks for help when needed
Follows MRIGlobal safety and security policies and procedures
Constructs components or equipment per approved design
Maintains fabrication facilities as directed
Assists with other tasks as assigned
