About The Position
This position assists engineers with the assembly and fabrication of prototype systems to support Integrated Defense Solutions programs. Work is performed as part of a team to produce solutions for both internal and external customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Desire to work in an engineering design and fabrication environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff in a team-based environment
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail
Nice To Haves
- Previous fabrication shop experience
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, machinery, and assembly processes
- 2 years of college or relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Assists higher-level technical staff to support engineering builds
- Conducts assigned work, with limited supervision, required for the project according to instructions or protocol
- Communicates results and problems to the supervisor
- Asks for help when needed
- Follows MRIGlobal safety and security policies and procedures
- Constructs components or equipment per approved design
- Maintains fabrication facilities as directed
- Assists with other tasks as assigned
