About The Position

Step into a leadership role where your expertise drives both technical excellence and community impact. As Laboratory Lead in our Yellowknife office, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our Ground Engineering team, leading laboratory operations, and supporting the successful delivery of complex geotechnical projects in Northern Canada.

Requirements

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
8–10 years of experience in geotechnical materials testing with demonstrated leadership and project management experience
Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA testing standards and procedures
Proven ability to manage projects, including budgets, schedules, client relationships, and technical delivery across laboratory and field environments
Valid Canadian driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract; ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in physically demanding environments

CCIL certifications and safety training (First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance) considered assets

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations of the geotechnical laboratory, ensuring accurate, efficient, and high-quality testing and reporting
Drive continuous improvement and growth of laboratory capabilities and service offerings
Manage projects from proposal through completion, including budgets, schedules, and client relationships
Review and validate geotechnical test data and field reports to ensure compliance with industry and client standards
Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
Champion health, safety, and quality standards across all laboratory and field operations
