About The Position

Aurora is looking for a Senior Technician to support the Workplace Team. This role is part of a 5-person team across all Pittsburgh sites, providing broad, hands-on support for all Pittsburgh locations. The position focuses on repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting, offering a blend of operational variety, professional skill expansion, and exposure to a mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in safely operating hand and power tools.
  • Willingness and ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., man lifts, forklifts, snow plows).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and stand or walk for long periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions, articulate ideas effectively, and maintain a service-oriented mindset.
  • Availability to handle non-standard hours for urgent facility requirements or emergency response situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive expertise or certification in technical fields like electrical, plumbing, or climate control systems.
  • Ability to safely haul/tow trailers and operate a variety of specialized heavy equipment.
  • Prior experience working at a tech company or in Class A office spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance, including miscellaneous troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. This will include minor electrical and plumbing installations and repairs, drywall and painting, furniture assembly, appliance setup, and a wide variety of building maintenance.
  • Support office logistics by assisting with internal office moves, moving desks, furniture, and other equipment. Help transport large/heavy furniture and hardware equipment between buildings using forklifts, dollies, etc. Support internal and external office events, parties, and meetings.
  • Perform property maintenance, handling weather-related property issues, including early morning or late-night shifts for snow removal, salting, plowing, and shoveling to ensure site safety. This also includes cleanup and remediation of storm damage, roof leaks, and general outdoor maintenance.
  • Uphold safety and operational standards by executing routine site inspections and quality assessments to ensure facility excellence. Oversee the documentation of service logs, safety protocols, and custodial outcomes to maintain a secure and high-performing workplace environment.
