RESUME REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION Position Summary The Senior Materials Technician serves as a key extension of the Wilkes-Barre Pharmacy leadership team. This role is responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a growing Receiving and Material Handler team, while providing operational and leadership support to pharmacy colleagues. The Senior Technician ensures operational excellence through regulatory compliance, inventory integrity, workload distribution, and financial accountability, while consistently modeling company values of Caring, Innovating with Purpose, Accountability, and Safety & Quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months in current role (Internal candidates)
  • 1+ of experience supporting PBM operations and production workflows across the facility (Internal candidates)
  • MUST have an ACTIVE Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA required for all those licensed after 2008
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAP planning modules.
  • Knowledge of power industrial equipment.
  • Lean/continuous improvement training (5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Materials or Inventory production environment
  • Working knowledge of: SAP PPS, Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 1 year of process improvement experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily backend pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workload distribution among Materials Coordinators.
  • Support and maintain Returned Goods Processing Inventory Repurposing, SAP integrity, OTTO operations, and Production Supply financials.
  • Ensure full compliance with DSCSA (Drug Supply Chain Security Act) requirements, including: Receiving and storage, Product traceability, Transaction documentation.
  • Partner with Quality, Compliance, and Procurement teams to support audits, investigations, and regulatory reviews.
  • Complete all required audit documentation and VIA entries within compliance guidelines.
  • Provide flexible availability for operational support and required conference calls.
  • Respond effectively to changing business needs and operational shifts.
  • Create, review, and maintain: Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job aids related to inventory control, DSCSA processes, and SAP workflows.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and operational needs.
  • Lead process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify root causes of errors and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Build a strong, high-performing team through: Training and onboarding of new colleagues, Ongoing development of tenured team members.
  • Provide constructive, professional feedback related to: Procedural errors, Production rates, Quality and compliance performance.
  • Conduct weekly five-minute meetings to communicate company updates and expectations.
  • Evaluate workload and talent daily to optimize production and output.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that promotes engagement and accountability.
  • Collaborate proactively across multiple business units to drive results and problem solve.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and provide feedback and recommendations to Managers and Supervisors.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and “outside the box” to improve efficiency within the team, department, and operations.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Ability to work Business Required Overtime (BROT) and Voluntary Overtime as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must tolerate working at heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to reach, twist, turn, bend, stoop, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
