Senior Technician, Maintenance (Instrumentation) - Belvidere, NJ
About The Position
The Senior Technician, Maintenance (Instrumentation) performs a variety of maintenance activities—including preventive maintenance, breakdown response, repairs, and rebuilding—to optimize plant equipment and support production of quality chemical intermediates, energies, and finished products according to the operations plan. The role performs specialized predictive and preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots, plans, installs, and modifies plant equipment and related systems in accordance with performance measures, cGMPs, SOPs, safety and regulatory requirements, and divisional goals. The position is based in Belvidere, New Jersey, with a Monday–Friday schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weekend, overtime (including coverage and standby), and holiday work may be required. The technician must be able to perform essential job functions, including process-equipment maintenance in shop-floor situations, and function or cross-train in the primary craft.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting process loop control at 4–20 mA.
- Knowledge and skills to diagnose problems and repair VFDs, PLCs, 480 V three-phase motors and associated controls, protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit and cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches, MCC buckets, and metrology equipment.
- At least 4 years of maintenance-related experience.
- Availability to work weekends, overtime (including coverage and standby), and holidays as required.
- Ability to function or cross-train in the primary craft.
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including maintenance of process equipment in shop-floor situations.
Responsibilities
- Complete and review work permits (Permit Cliqs) with operations personnel before starting work.
- Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed.
- Locate equipment problems and discuss potential causes.
- Recommend practical solutions to technical problems.
- Diagnose and repair VFDs, PLCs, motors and associated controls, protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit and cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches, and metrology equipment.
- Troubleshoot, assess, inspect, adjust, and repair facility flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation, including flow transmitters, level controls, and temperature measurement equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as defined and provided by leadership.
