The position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and is scheduled for eight hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related field, plus at least 8–10 years of relevant technical writing experience; additional experience may substitute for education, typically four additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Eight or more years of progressive technical writing, document creation, or service management experience supporting one or more Intelligence Community agencies or national security organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience writing for complex technical systems in a government, defense, or intelligence environment.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Strong command of grammar, structure, and editing, with a portfolio or work history demonstrating clear, accurate technical content.

  • Experience with RMF/ATO documentation and NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance and graphics or diagram tools such as Visio or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Ability to translate technical complexity for expert and non-technical audiences.
  • Information architecture and content strategy skills.
  • Attention to detail and ownership of document accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, analytic, and security communities.
  • Sound judgment in handling sensitive and compartmented information.
  • Leadership by example and ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Experience working in accredited, access-controlled environments.
  • Ability to comply with company drug and alcohol policies and successfully complete drug screening, which may include screening for marijuana and other federally controlled substances.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and edit system design documents, user guides, standard operating procedures, concepts of operations, interface control documents, training materials, and release notes.
  • Interview subject matter experts, engineers, and analysts; synthesize technical details into content suited to audience technical levels and mission needs.
  • Produce documentation for software, data platforms, analytic tools, collection and processing systems, cloud environments, and enterprise IT.
  • Document accreditation and compliance artifacts, including system security plans and configuration management documentation, in coordination with information assurance staff.
  • Establish and maintain style guides, templates, and documentation standards consistent with agency, Intelligence Community, and applicable federal requirements.
