Senior Technical Trainer
About The Position
The Senior Technical Trainer develops and delivers technical training programs for utility, construction, and maintenance (UCM) teams. The role mentors new trainers and helps ensure they have the skills and knowledge to succeed. It also coordinates daily training activities, manages training schedules, and ensures training objectives are achieved effectively and on time. The Senior Technical Trainer creates comprehensive programs tailored to organizational needs, keeps course content current and relevant, and manages the Learning Management System (LMS) so courses are scheduled and completed on time and employee competencies and qualifications are tracked accurately. The role works closely with leadership to align programs with departmental and company goals.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant technical trade.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or another relevant area of study, or equivalent experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement technical training programs tailored to organizational needs.
- Mentor and support new trainers by providing guidance and feedback to enhance their teaching abilities.
- Collaborate with leadership to align programs with departmental and company goals.
- Develop training materials, including presentations, worksheets, and instructor guides.
- Conduct training sessions using multiple delivery formats to engage students and maximize efficiency.
- Assess training program effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback and results.
- Manage training resources and ensure materials and equipment are up to date and in good working condition.
- Stay informed about technological trends and advancements and incorporate relevant information into training programs.
- Evaluate trainee performance, provide feedback, and assist trainees in improving their technical competencies.
- Ensure 100% accuracy of the Learning Management System for tracking competencies and certifications.
