Senior Technical Specialist - PBI CTR
About The Position
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards. The specialist will create efficient data models, implement complex calculations using DAX, and ensure data security through row-level security (RLS) and governance best practices. Responsibilities also include optimizing report performance, managing Power BI datasets and workspaces, and publishing/scheduling reports in Power BI Service. Additionally, the role requires developing, modifying, and supporting operational and analytical reports using SSRS, building paginated reports, and maintaining the existing SSRS report catalog. Troubleshooting report performance and data retrieval issues, and supporting the migration of legacy SSRS reports to Power BI are also key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Reporting Solutions
- Strong experience in Microsoft Power BI development.
- Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M Language), and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Advanced SQL development skills on SQL Server.
- Experience with Power BI Service, Gateways, Workspaces, and Deployment Pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Knowledge of report performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting environments.
- Any Degree (Computer Science)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of SSIS and SSAS.
- Experience with Paginated Reports in Power BI.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to REST APIs and data integration techniques.
- SSRS to Power BI migration projects.
- Financial, Sales, Operations, or Supply Chain reporting.
- Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
